Club Fitting

What is custom fitting?
Custom fitting can be best compared to the purchase of a suit, the tailor would first take measurements before he would attempt to make you a suit that fitted perfectly. Purchasing a suit off the rack would not achieve the same result.
A golfer will react to his or her flight of the ball and make corrections accordingly. Playing golf with custom fitted golf clubs eliminates swing compensations and allows golfers to develop and reach their true potential.
Before attempting to build a set of clubs for a golfer, the fitter/golf pro firstly needs to gather important information. The golfer’s swing speed, tempo, angle of attack and the overall performance and shape of the golf swing must be factored in.
The fitting will involve the testing of some different length irons, shafts, lie angles and grip sizes. The fitting is conducted in a dynamic process with the observation of ball flight and player feedback thru the overall feel.
We then have some player specs!! The next step will involve the building of one club, e.g. a 7 iron. The golfer can then test this club and adjustments will be made if necessary.
The process begins and a set of custom fitted clubs will be the end result.
Driver Fitting
A hot topic in recent years has been the advancement of the Driver and its overall improvement and performance. They are now produced in  so many varieties of lofts, shafts, and face angles and so on. The announcement by a manufacturer of increased distance and the golfer blindly purchases the driver, only to later realize they have purchased the wrong shaft or loft.
A driver fitting is broken down into a few basic steps.
Step 1.
A fitting starts with analysing the specifications of your current driver. Length, swing weight; gross weight and shaft frequency.
Step2.
We assess your performance with your current driver. Going thru a process of recording your swing speed, launch angle, spin rate and angle of attack. This is done with the aid of a launch monitor, at this stage we would be observing the golf swing and its works as this has a big affect on how the fitting will progress and last but not least the ball flight, what is it doing?
Step3.
Some realistic goals are set for the fitting. What is the golfer’s optimum carry distance, spin rates and launch angles to achieve maximum distance.
Step4.
The dynamic fitting commences, using the most advanced fitting system, the originator and leader in the removable hosel technology “Nakashima Golf”. On hand there are over 2500 different combination (lofts, shafts, face angle, swing weight and total weight). A Vector pro launch monitor will be used to assist in the fitting, but more importantly the golfer will feel the difference and see how different combinations affect the ball flight.
A recommendation will now be made.
